Sonic Among the Others

Sonic Among the Others is a fan-made ROM hack of Sonic the Hedgehog that replaces the standard level flow with altered zones, unique enemy placements, and custom stage music while keeping the core mechanics of the original Sega Genesis game. You control Sonic through modified versions of zones like Green Hill and Marble Zone, where the level design focuses on unpredictability and non-linear routes. Some areas include secret sections, sprite edits, and changes in enemy behavior that affect your timing and path selection. Visual effects, altered background palettes, and custom audio tracks push the presentation further from the official build while maintaining the gameplay foundation.
